Happy 1st birthday to The Low Major!

I released the last episode of College Hoop Highway when TLM debuted on February 28, 2022. Seems appropriate to release the next one on its one-year anniversary.

If you’re subscribed to this newsletter, you’re probably familiar with the WCC Tournament’s seemingly unfair format. You know the one (and if you don’t, it’s in the thumbnail right above this paragraph): the top two seeds (usually Gonzaga and Saint Mary’s) get a triple-bye straight to the semifinals, leaving most of the other WCC schlubs to play multiple games in a row before they even have to get off their couch.

Most people hate this format. I did too, at first. But now, backed up by 17 minutes worth of hard data, I’m here to tell you that it’s actually a good thing (just…not when the WCC does it).
