This is Christmas, to me.
In a year that was more trying than most for a variety of reasons, and amidst a season that hasn’t really felt much like a cause for joy - not even calling to mind the 55-degree weather in Minnesota and the pouring rain that landed most of today - I was still able to dredge up a little bit of that inner child that lurks somewhere within me and touch that joy.
It’s wonderful to get to spend time away from work in a time that often demands heavier loads than most, and the gifts are a luxury I’m always grateful for, but my favorite part is getting to spend time with family and loved ones - as I get older, it becomes harder to always make time for these small joys, and no album encapsulates that sentiment better than this.
I hope you all were able to spend the holiday as you want to - whether with blood family, found family, some combination of the above, or in whatever manner you find most appealing. Merry Christmas and happy holidays. Thanks for reading.
