Album: as a sketch pad (2020)
Artist: as a sketch pad

The shortest “album” we’ve reviewed so far, clocking in under ten minutes, as a sketch pad does a brilliant job adhering to the expectations set by its name, feeling like thoughts scribbled as dashing notes rather than a more complete body of work.
It’s perfectly fine pop-punk, though the vocals tend to get lost in the angsty guitars a bit too often for my taste. At the end of the record, the most I can really say is that I’m left wanting more, with a lingering taste that tells me that there’s good things that could come from continued exploration of this path, but there’s just not enough here for me to really say anything concrete about this.
