[extremely in the middle of playing Persona 5 voice] man this reminds me a lot of Persona 5
Terrible jokes aside, this is an awesome little album. Jazz like this is fun, rollicking and lighthearted in a way that can brighten even the rougher moods I find myself in sometimes, and if nothing else, this is an excellent album to get things done to.
My sole gripe is that a few of the songs tend to bleed into and over each other - to the point where it feels like I’m listening to one continuous track that goes on far too long. While there’s something to be said for consistency between tracks and a unified feel to an album - both things that in large part, this work accomplishes masterfully, it does reach a point in a few spots that it feels a little too samey, indistinguishable from one to the next.
A positive is that this is not a regular occurrence, though, and the tracklist as a whole is a lot of fun. It’s a perfect album to throw on for some casual enjoyment, to get some work done, or to jam out, and I can’t think of much more I’d want than that.
