Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: Music To Refine To: A Remix Companion to Severance (2025)

If you take nothing else from The Daily Spin, watch this show. Hot damn.
I do really like this - even with the obvious caveat that of course I would, it’s my top-listened-to artist of all time, an ambient album based on a television orchestral score is way up my alley, especially going off the minimalist electronica utilized by the show.
It fits perfectly in-universe, and though I don’t always love ODESZA’s spin on it, they show plenty of mettle and wrangle most of this music into form - though the original score here does display a great deal of restraint in its own way.
Great music that maintains its greatness doesn’t deserve full marks, but there’s fair credit to be given here purely for not screwing it up.
