Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: Conditions (2009)
Artist: The Temper Trap

I don’t know if I could put two hands’ worth of songs together that reach the same heights as ‘Sweet Disposition’ does. Sure, the vocals are a little pained at times, but it’s all the more impactful, especially as they go sailing into eternity in the chorus, various levels looping and swirling around each other as strings of light in my mind when I listen.
Then there’s the rest of the album.
I could cut my review there - it’d save me some time and effort, for one, but I have a duty to review every album earnestly and completely. Even that silly Chipmunks soundtrack.
It’s not really bad - it’s just uninspired, and most of the record pales in comparison to the heights. You see how good it is and quickly realize that most of Conditions is filler, the same tricks played out time and time again - and yes, they work alright enough that this is quite palatable, but there’s nothing outstanding or memorable about most of this album.
