Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: House with a Pool (2018)
Artist: Cailin Russo

I love a good indie pop moment. As much as this winds up often feeling like a grungy sort of punk feel, it’s very clearly got touches of that sunnier sound, deeply Californian in nature.
The dreamy touches make this record shine as much as any part of it - Russo’s vocals evoke an otherworldly sort of sensation, like reaching out through a wormhole, and it shines over the roaring guitars in the high moments and plays evenly in the weaker sections.
Nepo baby she may be, but this project shows flashes of talent all her own.
