Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: Kids at Play (2018)
Artist: Louis the Child

Louis the Child make electronic music for the lowest common denominator. Though this isn’t inherently a bad thing, it does obviously lead to a certain sort of flow through each record.
Poppy by nature and infused with the sort of charm that seeps from a very Angeleno sensibility, there’s some real enjoyability to this record through the indie artists that fold out through most of the record’s vocals - Elohim, Wafia, and RAYE shine as female singers taking love struck angles, and it works so well each time.
It does sort of fall towards a dull sensation after a while - Quinn XCII feels underutilized, and the tail end of the record actively bores after a while. Rarely do I ever think it gets bad, but there winds up being more dull filler material than you might think expect, and it drags the whole album down.
