Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: Same Day Cleaning (2025)
Artist: Sammy Virji

This album breaks my heart a little bit - not because it’s bad, it’s really not - but there’s such a clear lacking gap where that last little oomph could’ve gone that would have made this so intriguing. Without that, instead, we’re treated to a solid enough album, but not one that really deviates from the modern standard in any way, shape, or form.
The guest list generally doesn’t punch the way you’d like it to - outside of a stellar-as-usual Skepta feature, most of this finds its way into everlasting mediocrity and some unlucky few oscillate closer to forgettable entirely. Without the star power to boost this, much of the production hits rather rote points - instead of being the banner breakout for the modern garage movement, this winds up sitting at a much lower height.
Lacking that punch, I find myself rather uninterested in this, despite the hype I’ve seen from a variety of publications. Perhaps a case of pyrite.
