Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: Cruise Control(2025)
Artist: Satin Jackets

I am whelmed. Also, take a point off for cruise control, because I don’t use it.
Kidding.
Not about the whelming, though, unfortunately. That’s just the truth, as Satin Jackets have managed to produce nu-disco that verges so closely on becoming elevator music that it’s hard to hear even the higher notes as anything but.
It’s almost entirely the genre choice that’s the saving grace here. The production is solid, but it becomes more and more evident that there really isn’t all that much to produce here, and it leaves me wondering what the point of the record is. Sure, the electronica is snappy, but man.
I do enjoy the long list of features here, though. It’s a solid effort to bring some mixing into the fold, despite the lack of success I’d say actually occurred.
Guess you could say they… put it on cruise?
