Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: Creek (2025)
Artist: nimino

With Creek, nimino builds towards his burgeoning stardom brought on by standout track ‘I Only Smoke When I Drink’ - a mouthful of a title for a sleek little electronic ditty that hits quick and fierce. From that, nimino has parlayed his work into what appears to be an as-of-yet endless upward trajectory, and I’m looking forward to seeing what he does next - hence looking at his most recently released work.
Creek expands upon this - though the obvious contender for most popular song is the standout single, the best track is ‘Glow’, the opener - building with ethereal piano and synths to an expansive world is delightful.
Sometimes, the world feels a little too sparse, and the thoughts don’t always translate super cleanly - for all the ideas present here, the execution is a bit like playing darts at a bar - odds are, you’ll hit something, just might not be the target. The conversion rate is good enough to still make this worth a listen, though.
