Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: The Features (2013)

Here’s a strange one - a band that is active for 22 years, then vanishes - they’ve since dropped remastered material, but nothing new in the nine years since a summer 2016 show in Nashville, the last time the band performed publicly together.
I didn’t know any of this when I picked this album - I just really liked ‘This Disorder’ - at times a little heavy in the hand metaphorically, but strong all the same. Classic alt-rock fare, good in the bones with a nice little choral flair in some tracks.
It’s hard to write about songs that I feel like I’ve heard a thousand times before, as positive a quality that can be at times - and Features is one hundred percent a shining example of that. I like this album - a lot! I can’t, however, figure out a great way to say “this is pretty much exactly what this band and this genre have been doing for the better part of my lifetime and then some, but they’ve got the talent to execute else they probably wouldn’t have gotten this far”.
Then again, I suppose I just did.
