Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: Polygon (2015)

I never really enjoy being the curmudgeon, but sometimes it’s unavoidable - like tonight! Instead of getting a record that’s consistent and enjoyable to listen to the whole way through, instead we’re presented with a barrage of noise that doesn’t really break til we’re far too deep.
It’s a shame, because the concept on the surface ticks a lot of my boxes - I’m a sucker for a little classic rock from time to time, and my love for electronica is extremely well-documented - and yet, this record, which hits on both of these, finds itself in the unenviable position of feeling more like a bunch of songs layered together haphazardly than any sort of genuine organized attempt to make An Album.
It’s this which kills the best of the record, really, because I do enjoy it at the peaks, but they’re so constrained by the setup that it’s hard to separate the best from the fillers - like a random draw start for a NASCAR race.
