Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: SABLE, (2024)
Artist: Bon Iver

This one isn’t technically an album and has (I think) the shortest run-time of any project I’ve reviewed through 381 entries, but that’s for the nitpickers and detractors to rail against later, not my problem nor yours. Sometimes, you just gotta go with what the heart tells you, and my heart is telling me that this is the album to listen to.
I’ve spoken here before about my love for Bon Iver and his music - 22, A Million is one of the five albums that I would give a true 10/10 and any of his other works sit in the pantheon of highly regarded sound that I hold close to my heart.
SABLE, is the logical progression of this movement and yet simultaneously a return, a closing of the loop. It contains the wild freedom of 22, A Million and i,i, the synthetic reaches hailing to furthest distance, but also gives us memory of For Emma and his self-titled work, using his lower vocal register as opposed to his falsetto and a more acoustic touch throughout in accompaniment.
In just three songs, Vernon puts forth gorgeous and spatial arrangements, delightful and touching lyrics, and reminds me of what I love so much about music. It’s short and sweet and utterly brilliant in every sense.
