Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: Fever (2001)
Artist: Kylie Minogue

With Fever, Kylie Minogue set the scene for Brat twenty years down the line - sort of, kind of. A longtime star in Europe and Australia, her ninth studio album took all the hallmarks of a well-earned career and reintroduced them via ever-strong dance pop hits and club ballads, mixed with a pleasant sort of groove that gave the record a more modern touch.
Not to say it was all forward-thinking - Minogue was and is so good in the dance pop scene in part because she found the recipe pretty early and stuck by it so consistently - when she did venture awry, it was to often critically harsh reception. A welcome return to form, Fever knows this, and chooses to largely envelop itself in safety.
It’s strong - if safe - dance pop that largely chooses never to waver. It’s nothing incredible, and it doesn’t always work to strength, but when it’s good, it’s so hard to hate.
