Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: TILT (2022)
Artist: Confidence Man

One of the purest expressions of fun via music I’ve heard in quite some time, this is a freeing look at the dance floor in a way that touches at the heart brilliantly.
If this were fully like the best of the record, it’d be a revelatory gamechanger - but as is, the prioritization of fun tends to supersede the actual quality. More than anything, this is a hot person summer album, and they aren’t going to let anything get in the way of that at all - even if what’s attempting to run a block is a coherent melody.
By avoiding the pitfall of jokey lyrics - a problem on their first album - Confidence Man mostly escape the worst of the wors, but the clunkers persist. A few good tracks are unfortunately dragged down to the nine circles by some really tough passes, and yet I still find this album endearing in a joyful way. It’s hard to be mad at something so intentionally boneheaded.
