Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: Lucky For You (2023)

For a fourth album, I’m pretty disappointed here.
Despite a strong presence in theory - the guitars are there, the vocals have their moments, and the mixing shines on occasion - but in the end, this feels like an unfortunate step or three backwards.
The production here is the clearest miss - after a great deal of her work being self-produced, choosing to have JT Daly step in to take charge is an unfortunate error, entirely unforced, that leaves what are usually stunning performances drenches in a sort of saddening heft, all the overbearing nature of pop music a la beebadobee without any of the clarity that was present on the first three records.
It’s tough. The strength of songwriting is present here at moments, glimpses of beautiful performance flashing through, but far too much of this record is burdened by itself and it leaves everything struggling to grasp air.
