Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: Bop City (2016)
Artist: Terror Jr

Mystique only works if the smokescreen is alluring enough to serve as an actual distraction. If there’s nothing to pull the viewer’s eyes away from whatever you’re sneaking by, then why would they choose to look away?
Bop City is a prime example of a failure to redirect. Terror Jr is a trio founded and based in mystique, yet nothing on this record is remotely interesting enough to distract from the fact that there’s nothing all that appealing about this whole shebang.
Sure, the drum work isn’t bad, and the vocalists aren’t terrible, but man. There’s a whole lot of nothingness here that tries to masquerade under the banner of allure. I’m interested to see if there’s something more interesting further down the road, but this wasn’t much to write home about.
