Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: Sunlight (2020)
Artist: Spacey Jane

Sunlight is authentic beyond expectation, cooler than first sights would lead you to believe, and contains some pretty delightful earnestness - an album of apologies that never reallys feels like it weighs heavy on the soul.
And yet, the more I look back, the more boilerplate this sounds. For all the acclaim and all the awards, this is one of the more standard efforts I’ve seen in quite some time - and because of that, it’s honestly a little challenging for me to throw this out as a genuine recommendation.
It’s not a lack of heart, but the synths and vocals, a little more developed than on their pre-album EPs, just don’t quite have the sauce to make this as special as I was led to believe it would be.
