Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: Evergreen (2014)

Deceptively crafted pop is the name of the game here - a collection of what parlay into pretty sad stories morphs into these beautifully worked songs that span emotions brilliantly… for the first two or three, at least.
It’s not that the rest is bad, but it’s almost worse - it’s boring. There’s just not enough going on here to make a substantive effort, and it’s cursed with the strength of its opener to fall all the harder for it.
When it’s good, this is fantastic production - you get tastes of brilliance here, enough to hook you through to the end, but it’s this frustrating teasing situation where you’re running up a treadmill in pursuit of a treasure endlessly just out of reach. It winds up not being very fun.
