Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: Elliot (2013)

It’s fun to go back to the early days of artists you love - see how far they’ve come, enjoy the stylistic differences, and find those pieces that have held steady over the years and the tracks.
Under the Greco-Roman label - known for their proficiency in churning out these delightful little indie pop jams and house bangers alike, working with Disclosure and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs among others - Roosevelt began his journey into stardom with this excellent four-track set.
The clear standout is ‘Montreal’, full of those grooves that have made him such a routine presence on my playlists. It’s got enough energy to more than satisfy the gaps left by the other tracks - though those are a little disappointing purely on the lack of danceability throughout. They do, however, show the deft control that has made Roosevelt such a strong hand over the last decade-plus.
For a first effort, quite strong. This pales in comparison to most of the rest of his discography, but there’s still plenty to love.
Rating: 8/10
Best Tracks: Montreal
Worst Tracks: Sea

Montreal is like a top-3 song by him and it was one of the first songs he ever released. Ridiculous.
