Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: Must Be Nice (2022)
Artist: 49th & Main

Since we’re never getting out of summer (seriously, ninety degrees in October? no.), I figured I’d keep it rolling with another summery pick to keep things rolling.
I was immediately drawn in by the awkward-school-photo energy this record carries from the cover on, and while I’m pretty tired of the ‘coming-of-age’ trope so many of these albums I’ve been reviewing have carried, I can’t be too mad about one executed to this degree.
Electropop is a favorite genre of mine, and it’s done well here by 49th and Main - full of versatility, swinging through synths and grooves alike - outside of an odd ukulele inclusion on ‘Tom’, there’s not really anything here that feels wildly out of place. It speaks to a comfort wielding many tools that I envy greatly - it’s not easy to do well across subgenres, and yet O’Sullivan and King finagle it with such confidence that it’s infectious.
All in, it’s a pretty joyful little racket. I can’t complain about anything, and it’s worth a listen if electropop is at all up your alley.
