Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: Shelby Ave (2025)
Artist: Max Frost

Can’t really explain why I picked this - something about the smooth tones of the album cover really spoke to me, I guess.
It’s good music - classical breakup tracks interspersed with some enjoyable indie rock, fluttering pop influences bounding their way through to balance the scales. There’s nothing truly otherworldly about anything on this record - even the breakup lyrics tends to slide towards base platitudes that we’ve heard a thousand times over.
Unfortunately, this is what holds Shelby Ave back - much like the actual street in Nashville, I fear this one’s been a little overcooked and crawled over by so many bodies that it’s hard to distinguish anything really making this worthwhile.
