Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: Verde (2015)
Artist: Tei Shi

An outstanding vocalist that still needed a little time to find her style is the best way I can describe this album, a thorough effort in the indietronica space, power vocals crossing genre lines but always coming home before the day is done.
Most impressive is ‘Bassically’, an 80s-tinged power ballad that overcomes somewhat middling lyrics through pure vocal strength - the wailing background and gorgeous instrumental is more than enough to comfortably offset any awkwardness.
Though the influences of indie titans like the xx are a little too apparent at times, and the bounding between genres gets exhausting, there’s a lot of really strong material here, and that alone makes this worth the while.
Rating: 8/10
Best Tracks: Bassically
Worst Tracks: Get It
