Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: WOW! (2025)
Artist: Between Friends

There’s a pattern that’s emerging here relevant to my enjoyment of Between Friends - there’s usually one, maybe two songs that are out-of-this-world bops, the sort of track that may very well find itself on a future Wrapped - but the rest falls back to earth with such speed akin to a meteorite.
Consistency is key in music and in most things, and the lack of ability to foster strong runs of songs is what tends to hold these albums back. Without any clear progression to adhere to, the punch falls flat and this album (as with most of their work) starts to feel pretty aimless - without a climax, it’s just a drag.
The production baseline here is pretty solid the whole way through - somewhere between glitch pop and the dreamy nostalgia of the 2000s, it’s a pleasant little concoction. There’s just not enough time to properly savor it.
Also, it’s pop, not soda. C’mon.
