Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: Come Over (2021)
Artist: Kowloon

Good chillwave is a surprisingly difficult art-form to do well. You have the endless imitation games, the ‘has-beens’ who think that going soft is going to prolong a waning career, and a lot of people, like me, who picked up GarageBand on a school iPad and thought they could make a career out of music.
Kowloon does it well - the single-man project out of Los Angeles is close to Litany, bedroom pop that’s friendly enough to find the floor for - all next to tender vocals that don’t ever really put you through the floor, but do the work to get the job done.
It’s reminiscent of Hot Chip, almost, this kind of half-soft/half-sharp feel that pushes and pulls your ears - never rudely, just gesturing you along.
