Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: Life After (2019)
Artist: Palace

A band that, at times, felt a little underwhelmed on their first release comes back and delivers a more forceful, more energized second effort.
There’s just still not enough there to really make this interesting. It never balloons into full-throated rock, and doesn’t quite hit the same quiet broken-heartedness that made 2016’s So Long Forever such an intriguing debut. With nothing to say and little to keep the sound that appealing, I’m left befuddled at what really makes this tick.
Instead, we’re left in the doldrums of an eternity here. If this is life after, whatever came before, I think I’ll take the bus pass to somewhere else.
