Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: DIVE (2024)
Artist: almost monday

Bordering on pop-punk, almost monday make some really fun indie pop - and after a long string of singles, it’s quite enjoyable to see them actually release a full-length album for the first time.
DIVE knows exactly what it is. Over 28 minutes, you’ll get slammed with a wall of sound pretty consistently, pleasantly in the center of indie, pop, and punk, all of which corral themselves in pretty neat order. It’s one of the album’s struggles - for all it wants to be subversive, the substance finds itself a little lacking when it’s so easily constrained.
Despite that, the infectious energy of the vocals and the instrumentals run rampant to the point where it’s really easy to get wrapped up in the fun, and at that point, you can’t be too fussed about getting a little carried away.
