Welcome back to the Daily Spin. For the uninitiated, this is the series in which I review an album every day of 2025.
As was the case two years ago, my favorite song from each album can be found at the playlist linked here.
Album: Dancemenco (2021)

Dancemenco is this:
It’s a lovely summer night, somewhere in a coastal town, the kind of place where the world tends to slow down all Lotus Casino-like. You’re there, overpriced drink in hand, swaying to the beat of a song that maybe only you can hear - it’s hard to tell, you’ve had a few, and the lights aren’t making it any easier, flashing neon into the night sky. You’re a little unsteady when you run into one of the most beautiful people you’ve ever seen, and as they beckon you onto the floor, you feel compelled to follow.
And you dance.
Under flashing lights and over a floor shaking with the crowd’s energy, you move. Yes, this isn’t the typical bass-heavy fare you tend to, but there’s an airy quality to it that has you feeling light on your feet in a way years of wear have almost had you forget.
It’s a little tropical for your liking, too much a siren’s call for the tourists that stampede along these beaches, but it’s enough for a moment, for you to throw your head back and lose yourself despite the covers that… well, they’ll do.
And that’s the crux of it. It isn’t perfect, it’s full of silly beats and tastes far too French for any one album that isn’t a Daft Punk masterpiece, but it’s a chance to step into an alternate fantasy for a short while. I’ll take that chance.
