Each album will be given a rating on a scale from 0 to 10. You can look at the entire set here.

Though I’m not intimately familiar with the works of YoungBoy Never Broke Again, I’ve road-tripped with my brother enough to have a basic knowledge - so, when perusing new music releases for an album to review today, I happened to see I Rest My Case and decided I was sorted for today.
As a trap album, this accomplishes exactly what you’d expect it too, using snappy hooks and quick-witted workplay throughout, adding ad-libs with both appropriate and wildly inappropriate levels of hype. Certain tracks on the album lean into more of a RnB feel, a welcome shift from what is otherwise pretty rote form for YBNBA.
His ability to find room to be a little experimental (for him) despite what many would deem high stakes - his ability to create prolific production throughout the pandemic has elevated his profile to what many would deem its highest point so far - is his greatest strength, highlighting his choices to not take himself too seriously in between songs where he does plenty of that.
Rating: 6.9/10
