Album: The Last Dance (2018)
Artist: Dance a la Plage

Dance a la Plage’s fourth and final album is, in my opinion, their finest, establishing the soft sort of indie rock that they chased their entire run at its best, one last hurrah that they absolutely nailed.
It’s too short for its own good, just 24 minutes over seven songs, gradually longer throughout the EP, but it feels like tastes of something bigger and better that I wish were allowed to simmer a bit more and grow into their footing, because when it’s good - god, it’s so good. There’s not really a bad track on the record, merely tracks that I don’t think possess some of the outstanding qualities of the others.Â
In style reminiscent of Two Door Cinema Club or, to a lesser extent, someone like Little Comets or even Dayglow, Dance a la Plage perfectly sets out what they want to accomplish - and I think they get there, save for a last push to get to the next level.Â
