Welcome back to the Daily Spin, the series in which I review 365 albums during 2023. 64 albums in, with today’s review. We could do a bracket of them!
Each album will be given a rating on a scale from 0 to 10. You can look at the entire set here. Additionally, you can check out a list of my favorite song from each album right here.

Album: Sport (2019)
Artist: Medoed.

With Sport, Medoed. provide solid Midwest emo, meeting expectations without overdoing cliches. I think the album is at its best when it’s not trying to be too much - partially a preference of my own, as I find the crushing waves of sound that sometimes accompany this genre a bit overwhelming at times, but also that when the group takes the time to slow things down a little bit, it’s when the music really shines.
The primary example of this is the album’s closer, ‘Eight Things’, a song that, while only 1:42 long, is the best thing they put on the album purely because it gives the instruments a chance to breathe, to exhale and let some of the pressure off. Though there’s merit to the heavier elements of the album, they tend to wear long.
Rating: 7.3/10
Best Tracks: Sport; Eight Things
Worst Tracks: Messlife
