Album: Taste of Love (2021)
Artist: TWICE

Bubbly to the point of being saccharine, K-pop starlets TWICE dropped Taste of Love in 2021, their tenth mini-album. At just 17 minutes, it’s one of our shortest reviews since March, maybe April - and that tight length is very welcomed.
It’s not bad. It’s pretty standard pop production, the likes of which we’ve seen a fair bit before. It’s a little more shimmery than, say, the power pop of Dua Lipa or Carly Rae Jepsen’s explosive electropop, and a lot of that is down to the sugary guitars, drippingly sweet vocals, and strong synths that basically go from 0 to 100 and don’t ease off until the EP reaches its close.
Girly-pop it may be, but it’s not for me.
