Okay so I just read this in history class and found something... it turns out "the barn at coal creek" is not a barn, it is a wedding reception venue in the middle of nowhere, oklahoma.
Ahh. My metro area self would never have known that, most event venues here are, depending on the formality, the local church, fancy restaurant, or chuck e. cheese.

Repurposing big barns as event venues is pretty common in most of rural America. They had one near the town I grew up in South Dakota too.
