In my 3rd grade classroom, everyone in my elementary school was connected to a college, to inspire more kids to go to college.

My class was Iowa.

That obviously then makes them by 5th favorite Big Ten team

What did this connection entail?

I honestly still have no idea.

Actually, I think it entailed 3 things:

1: After the morning announcements, we all yelled "GO HAWKEYES!!!"

2: We all got cool black and yellow shirts

3: There was a lot of Iowa posters along the walls. I mean A LOT.

I still don't know why the school did this.

Ok, I think I found it. It was associated with this program for MS and HS students. I think they used teachers alma maters, but when 2 teachers went to the same school they just picked some other school for one of them.

Suburban Portland. I think the teacher was maybe an Iowa grad??? Pretty sure they went with the alma mater of the teacher? But when I was taught by 2 Washington State grads in like Kindergarten, the class was UMich. I have no idea at all how it worked

Hey, I was brainwashed by the evil media that was my elementary school principal (He didn't even go to Iowa, he was a big SDSU fan. Wore their stuff everywhere)
